Portable Virtual Reality Machine

A purpose built system for running virtual reality (VR) applications. Perfect for "Site Experience" and any other VR apps that you have. Maintaining high frame rates and low latency is the key to a good VR experience.

For most of us, having a single high powered machine in one location is just not enough anymore, with modern workflows being mobile is more important than it ever has been before. That was part of the thinking designing this machine.

Components

The Corsair Graphite 380T case is built for portability, having a convenient carry handle built into the case at the top.

This machine also has a/c wireless for super fast wireless transfer speeds, and of course no need to bring Ethernet cables with you when you move this machine around.

It has the latest generation Intel core i5 skylake processor, kept cool with a closed loop Corsair H100i water cooling block with a radiator and dual fans.

For storage we have gone with a 248 GB Kingston hypermax predator, these drives are M.2 PCIe (not sata) which provides incredible read / write performance, roughly 2-3 times that of a sata solid state drive. While that probably sounds overly technical to some, what it means is super fast boot and app loading times. Windows 10 boots in under 10 seconds!

Now all that is great, but without a video card, we won't be enjoying top performance when it comes to virtual reality applications. So we've selected an Nvidia GTX980 for the job. The recommend video card for VR is currently the GTX970, but from what I can see happening in VR development today, I'd say it won't be long before people are going to be looking for a bit extra. So with that in mind we have the next level graphics card, to ensure that this machine is performing well for some time to come!
