Creating 3D models with Sketchup

For a free to use for personal use 3D modeling package, Sketchup is a great tool for generating 3D models. Out of all the programs I have tried for creating 3D assets, Sketchup is by far the easiest to learn and use. In fact for concept modeling I still use it today, due to the speed at which designs can be entered and evaluated for purpose.

So where do you get started? Well the best place to start is grabbing a copy to suit your opperating system from the Sketchup download page. The installation process is very simple, if your not sure, just stick with the defaults, you can't really go wrong.
